A Thanksgiving Message from Carew’s CEO, Jeff Seeley
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for many reasons. It is a time to be with family and friends, but we are now having to reevaluate how and if we can safely be together while still halting the spread of COVID-19.
Many of us have not been on a customer’s location in 8 or 9 months, and remote work has led to feelings of isolation from our customers and teams. We may not think we are doing our jobs to the best of our ability or providing the full measure of value that a true sales professional or sales leader should deliver.
Internal digital communication in many organizations is declining. When we began working remotely, we adapted quickly, and virtual meetings were engaging and effective. We now see less engagement each day, and we miss the ease of casual office interactions. We are lacking the gratification that comes from celebrating successes with our clients in person. No high-fives are going around, and while the virtual high five is nice, it just is not the same.
Even in these distant and isolating times, there is so much to be grateful for. We thank the companies and leaders that have been trying to adjust, reconfigure, and keep their teams intact regardless of the headwinds they are experiencing. We have figured out how to work differently than ever before; we have new skills to celebrate and have strengthened our ability to persevere.
We must be thankful for each other, too. The human condition is about gathering, sharing, and engaging. This Thanksgiving, show your gratitude for the friends, family, colleagues, and customers who have helped you endure the challenges of 2020.
As we head into our digital Thanksgivings, let us remember these blessings. We have experienced much together, and we still have a way to go, but the single greatest asset of all is HOPE! Be thankful for the HOPE of an even greater future.
