“The only thing harder than giving a sales presentation is listening to one.”

Ouch! As much as we hate to admit it, this customer sentiment has been earned with decades of long, boring, self-serving sales presentations. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Here are tips for keeping your sales presentation painless:

Keep it Brief – Always come in under the time allocated for your presentation. It shows respect for your audience’s time, and increases your likeability.

Use Real Stories – People love stories. Real stories make the content more interesting and more memorable. Whenever possible, use stories and personal experiences to convey your point.

Use Humor – People love funny stories even more!

Seek to Entertain – Think of the advantage you will create for yourself if your audience actually enjoys their time with you! To this end, you should view entertainment an essential component of any sales presentation.

Approach every sales presentation with two key objectives – to ensure attendees’ time with you is worthwhile and enjoyable. In other words, get into the “Odds Are” of your audience to set the stage for sales success.
